Meet Our Core Team

In addition to our officers, we have a family of fosters who take care of the pups in need of homes. If you are interested in joining our team, we would love to have you!

Angela Ventro

Angela is Co-Director and Co-Founder and started Adopt A Pup with other co-founders in October 2012. She is a mommy of an adorable son born in October 2013, and two formerly homeless fur kids. Angela graduated with honors from Michigan State University in 2007 and went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2010. She has been licensed to practice law in Michigan since July 2011. Angela became aware of the homeless pet epidemic and the plight of shelter dogs in America when she found her dog Daphne as an emaciated puppy on the streets of Toledo in December of 2009, and could no longer sit idly by. Since then, she has adopted another homeless dog, Marshall, and fostered many dogs for Adopt A Pup and other rescues. She advocates against Breed Specific Legislation, and laboratory testing on companion animals. When not rescuing or lawyering, Angela enjoys spending time at her parents' Metro-Detroit area home (especially their pool in the summer), and boating with her family and dogs.

Vanessa Frassetto

Vanessa joined Adopt A Pup in January 2013 as a foster. She became the Foster and Adoption Coordinator in June 2013 and was promoted to Co-Director of Adopt A Pup in November 2013. She has 3 of her own rescued fur kids at home and always has at least one or two Adopt A Pup fosters. She has had a passion for helping animals since she was a young child and immensely enjoys working with Adopt A Pup to help save animals in need. Vanessa graduated from Michigan State University (Go Green) with her Bachelors Degree and plans on going back to school to get her Masters in Human Resources Management. When not working or volunteering for the rescue, Vanessa enjoys traveling to warm places, spending time with her friends and family, cheering the Spartans on to victory, hiking and exploring nature with the dogs, and going to concerts. Vanessa lives on a lake and spends all summer outside enjoying the water, bonfires, and any and every outdoor activity. She also volunteers for the Capital Area Humane Society when she has free time and is very passionate about the environment and recycling and gets involved in community recycling events when she can.
